“Transforms your entire day”

From Nelofer Haider

I choose this commercial because I feel like I can relate to it. I am always on the go and eating tons of food that’s not good for me. I think it is really interesting that they are trying to sell the idea that buying Nutirgrain bar has the power to change your entire day’s diet. “One good decision leads to the next” Which is sort of true if you start the day off good why not continue it. I just though the commercial was funny because it’s trying to sell the idea of eating healthier just by using a Nutrigrain bar. I think this is a commercial that several people can relate to which makes it stand out.

I think the production and editing of this commercial is what makes it unique and draws my attention. The commercial is able to develop patterns that the audience is abel to recognize, which always makes people curious.

The cuts and close up shots in 30-seconds play just as an important roll as the sound. Professor Sheehan lectured the other day about how sound can make the audience “salivate” and what triggers excitement and associations. Each frame shot has a specific sound that the audience can pick up. The storytelling is creative and while the audience does not know what is going on, the suspense promises a conclusions and delivers. The commercial is shot as if the audience (viewer) is the person in the commercial and “feeding” themselves. The transition from unhealthy to healthy, climax, is quick to the point and the viewer can get a sense of what daily consumption would we if they ate healthier….. starting with Nutri Grain Bar (one choice at a time).
